Cultural Diversity has played a key role since the beginning of Drea’s life. Born to a Canadian Welsh woman Drea was given up for adoption and raised in Chicago where she found and interest in the church choir and high school chorus. Drea began singing locally when she met a reggae band at a Chicago nightclub. Starting out as a back-up vocalist, Drea perfected her ability to harmonize and work the stage and has worked with many local artists performing many styles of Reggae and World Beat music. Drea learned to sing in the ancient Ethiopian language of Amharis as well as the Fante dialect from the Akan Tribe of Ghana Africa, and has had the opportunity to perform with opening acts for big name artists such as: Yellow Man, The Wailers and Michael Rose from Black Uruhu, just to name a few. Favorite highlights of Drea’s were singing back-up vocals for Everton Blender in Chicago and opening up for Singing Melody with the band Modern Culture.Drea had her debut on Jamaican airwaves in interviews with Barry “G” from Hot102 FM and Ron Muschet from IRIE FM singing live for the listeners.  

Recognizing her dedication, Martins International Music Awards in Chicago has presented her with a certificate for her “Contribution to Reggae Music” her debut album “Version Of Love” was nominated for best CD . In addition to her years of experience singing Reggae and World Beat music, Drea has also laid tracks singing back-up vocals on a duet for Joanna Connor from the Joanna Connor Blues Band and the world renowned Luther Allison. Drea has much experience performing for clubs, radio, and cultural festivals (including the famous “Taste of Chicago” festival)   Currently, Drea is working on a new live show and her second cd “TIME” Will be available spring 2011.
